Up early so my friend Christine Buhr can take me to the airport to head back to Miami and sailing away to The Bahamas! I sat on the airplane missing my little buddy and the rest of my family and friends. Sailing to one of my favorite islands is exciting. I slept most of the way to the airport and found gate easily after checking in my bags with a not friendly arrogant airport employee. The flight was only 1.5 hours and landed promptly in Miami. I took an Uber to the boat. Unloaded my luggage to the boat Steve had parked at the Sailing dock right at the parking area. We had a couple hours to go so we went to eat before leaving. After loading organizing and fall proofing the boat we untied and off we went! The water in the bay was flat until the end of the bay where we started to see a little wave action. After hitting the ocean it was rolly but doable. It was an ok ride but not bad.

It was light SSE seas and some north below 10 knots. which is a great time to cross the stream.

Here are some pics to enjoy.

Skip to January 10 back to sailing! I woke early grabbed my bags, my friend Chris Buhr picked me up promptly and Boom I’m off to Miami and on to Bimini across the Gulf Stream. Steve was gassed up and ready to go so when I arrived we went to eat and left at 10:00 toward Bimini. The stream was a little rolly but doable. We arrived at Bimini that morning dodged a huge delivery ship and a trawler and found a spot at Bluewater Marina. Oh and we had to time the waves our first attempt into the entrance was Denied due to big waves.
