Day 164 April 19 2013 Friday

Good morning everyone! Two days to Rossville! Steve was gone when i woke up and he came in with me breakfast just a few minutes later :-). We started on washing the boat, scrubbing all the dirt and salt off to make her pretty again. We washed her all day long took a break to get more cleaning supplies then back to work. We finally got finished scrubbing the boat cleaning the inside and storing the things that stay on the boat. Oh and did I tell you the winds have blown 15-20 knots all day here at the marina and our boat is still in the water. Yes we rocked and rolled and cleaned, I think it may catch on as a new way to clean your boat just hold the sponge in one spot and let the wind blow the boat back and forth, LOL.

  1. S&D – So glad you’re back home – the US – safely! The first thing we would do every morning is look to see if there’s been a new posting of your adventure.

I used to live in Ft. Pierce, went to high school there and later came back to teach Marine Science. I had my first sailboat – a Hobie Cat – in the Indian River north of the bridge going to north beach. I’ll bet coming in through the jetty back to the US was a mixture of relief to finally be back to the land of perpetual cheese burgers and a little sadness that this phase of your adventure was ending.

What’s the next chapter of your adventures going to include? It sounds like there’s a bigger boat with a watermaker and washing machine planned!

What have you leaned about yourselves after this adventure? How have you changed individually? It sounds like the boat took pretty good care of you. Was there much that you took that you really didn’t need? What do you wish you have more of?

Will you be leaving the boat at the coast somewhere or eventually taking it back to Chattanooga?

Looking forward to your post-trip pictures!
